Habitat:  Scrub, 1200 - 2100 metres[184].

Edible Uses: Fruit - raw or cooked. A sweet flavour but there is very little flesh[K]. The ovoid fruit is about 12mm long and contains a single large seed[200]. The leaves are used as a tea substitute[183].
