The Rhodiola rhodantha plant species is found in Western N. America - Arizona to Montana. It is a member of the Crassulaceae family. Common gardeners may know the plant as Queen's crown. Some home gardeners know the variety as Sedum rhodanthum. A.Gray.

Habitat:  Moist places in tundra or in meadows and by streams in the Rocky Mountains to 2700 metres[83].



Cultivation Notes:  Prefers a fertile well-drained soil in a sunny position[200]. Established plants are drought tolerant[200]. A good plant for the flower border[83]. This species has pink to white flowers[200]. All members of this genus are said to have edible leaves, though those species that have yellow flowers can cause stomach upsets if they are eaten in quantity[62, 85].
