Angelica sinensis

The Angelica sinensis plant species is found in E. Asia - China. It is a member of the Umbelliferae family. Common gardeners may know the plant as Dang Gui. Some home gardeners know the variety as A. polymorpha sinensis.

Known Hazards:  All members of this genus contain furocoumarins, which increase skin sensitivity to sunlight and may cause dermatitis[238].
 
Mature Height:  1   Mature Width:  0.7
 
Habitat:  High ground in cool and damp areas of western and northwestern China[165].



Cultivation Notes:  Requires a deep moist fertile soil in dappled shade or full sun[200]. This species is not fully hardy in the colder areas of the country, tolerating temperatures down to at least -5°c[238]. Plants are reliably perennial if they are prevented from setting seed[200].
