The Nemopanthus mucronatus plant species is found in Eastern N. America - Newfoundland to Ontario, south to Wisconsin, Indiana and Virginia. It is a member of the Aquifoliaceae family. Common gardeners may know the plant as Mountain holly. Some home gardeners know the variety as N. canadensis. Ilex canadensis. non West. Vaccinium mucronatum.
