The Gaultheria hispidula plant species is found in Northern N. America to E. Asia - Japan. It is a member of the Ericaceae family. Common gardeners may know the plant as Creeping snowberry. Some home gardeners know the variety as Chiogenes hispidula. Vaccinium hispidulum.

Medicinal Information:  The plant is said to remove the cancerous taint from the body[4]. An infusion of the leaves has been used as a tonic for a person who has overeaten[257].
