The Erica x darleyensis plant species is found in A hybrid of garden origin, E. herbacea x E, erigena. It is a member of the Ericaceae family. Some home gardeners know the variety as E. mediterranea hybrida.

General Uses:  An admirable dense ground cover plant[182, 208], though it might need weeding for the first year[197]. It can be clipped in spring to give denser growth[197, 208]. Plants should be spaced about 60cm apart each way[208]. Plants can be grown as a low hedge, the cultivar 'Furzey' is often used[29].
