The Ageratina ligustrina plant species is found in Southern N. America - Mexico to Costa Rica. It is a member of the Compositae family. Some home gardeners know the variety as Eupatorium ligustrinum. DC. E. micranthum. E. weinmannianum.

Cultivation Notes:  Requires a sunny position, succeeding in most well-drained but moisture retentive fertile soils[1]. A very ornamental plant, it is often grown as an ornamental in the greenhouse but can succeed outdoors in the mildest areas of the country[1, 11, 59]. Plants have withstood temperatures down to -12°c[11]. Another report says that plants are often cut back by frost[166]. Plants are usually grown under one of its synonyms[11]. The flowers are very attractive to butterflies[49]. Plants can continue flowering until Christmas in mild autumns[182].
