The Dipsacus mitis plant species is found in E. Asia - N. India. It is a member of the Dipsacaceae family. Some home gardeners know the variety as D. inermis.

Habitat:  Humus rich soils amongst scrub and in forests, 1700 - 3100 metres in the Himalayas[145].



Cultivation Notes:  We have very little information on this species and do not know if it will be hardy in Britain, though judging by its native range it should succeed outdoors at least in the milder parts of this country. It is likely to require a well-drained humus-rich soil in sun or semi-shade.
