The Desmodium elegans plant species is found in E. Asia - Himalayas to W. China. It is a member of the Leguminosae family. Some home gardeners know the variety as D. tiliifolium.(D.Don.)G.Don. Hedysarum tiliifolium.

Medicinal Information:  The roots are carminative, diuretic and tonic[240]. They are used in the treatment of bilious complaints[240, 243].
