The Berchemia lineata plant species is found in E. Asia - C. and N. China to the Himalayas. It is a member of the Rhamnaceae family. Some home gardeners know the variety as Rhamnus lineatus.

Edible Uses:  Fruit. - raw or cooked[177]. Eat when black ripe[105]. The fruit is not very freely produced in Britain[1]. The fruit is about 8mm in diameter[200].
